I did an internship at a digital marketing agency and got it off the back of all the societies I have been doing alongside my degree.
At Freshsight, for example, I worked through two projects specialising in marketing to get experience of working in a team in that sector, presenting to a client and developing my knowledge of marketing.
I think it is really important in business to have practical experience in group – which isn’t geography related – however is still importance advice for anyone who wants to get on a graduate scheme in the business sector.
In terms of studying human geography, I believe it has given me strong analytical skills which means I can score highly on verbal reasoning tests and helps me write succint reports and briefs. Moreover, I think geography is also quite applied to contemporary global issues which has meant that I have kept up to date with politics. This is extremely helpful in business considering post-brexit, rising production costs etc.
